What can I say about Sooty, Sooty was a Hippy, no other way to
describe him. His favourite phrase would have been "chill out man". His
favourite pose was to sit with his nose in a flower just sniffing with a far
away expression on his face. He used to lie with his head under cupboards
with the firm belief that if he couldn't see us we couldn't see him and the
world could just go by while he snoozed. Sooty was Alan's special
companion, they would go fishing together and if Alan took the boat off
shore to fish Sooty would sit on the beach watching and waiting, keeping
Alan in his sight, no way would he get in the boat though, preferring solid
ground.
